Support Cox
Larger vessels have a captain in charge, but smaller boats tend to have a Coxswain. All come under the general informal title of “Skipper”. Being a skipper can be a lonely task as they bear the whole responsibility for the complete safety and well- being of the boat and crew, even when asleep. To support the Coxswain, you should aim to be a reliable member of the crew, and to accept some of the load of responsibility. As you now hold an Able Volunteer grading it is important for you to build up experience on how to support the Coxswain and start to take on the responsibilities of that role.
